Van Wicklin, a broker, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Van Wicklen, of 424 President Street, Brooklyn.the ceremony was performed in the parlors of the bride’s home, which were decorated with hyacinths, roses, cut flowers, palms and potted plantes, the Rev. Dr. John Humpstone, minister of the Emanuel Baptist Church, officiating.the bride was given away by her father.The bride’s gown was of white messaline satin trimmed with duchesse lace.She wore a bridal veil and carried a shower bouquet of lillies of the valley.Her only jewel was an amethyst and pearl pin, a gift of the groom.The Maid of honor, Miss Jessis Van Wicklen, a sister of the groom, wore a white India silk gown trimmed with Valenciennes lace, and carried a shower bouquet of hyacinths.Miss Ethel Nesmith, a sister, was bridesmaid.She was gowned in a cream India silk, trimmed in Valenciennes lace, and carried a bouquet of hyacinths.The best man was Albert Markm well of Brooklyn.After a reception had been held Mr. and Mrs. Van Wicklen left for an extended trip--- the South.
